Halloween is the first holiday of the bunch. The kids helped decorate the house with all the singing spooky creatures again this year and then set out to find the perfect pumpkin. None were too big or small for our bunch. The only rule was that they had to be able to carry whichever one they picked. Connor tried his hardest to get the great pumpkin into the wagon. After much huffing and puffing, we helped him place it into the wagon, along with Corynn's and our other little pumpkin.
Once the pumpkin selections were made, it was time to get down and dirty. First up was pumpkin painting. This feat has been tackled in years past (hence no clothes on) because there seems to always be more body art than a pumpkin masterpiece.
Carving time was up next. The kids by far enjoy this part the most. They posed with their intact pumpkins one last time and then they dug in. The pumpkin guts and seeds seemed to provide entertainment for kids of all ages.
Bennett helped Mom and Dad put the finishing touches on this years pumpkin creations; Hello Kitty and a Lego head.
To finish up this start to the fun holiday season, we dressed in our best costumes and went on the search for candy. Connor dressed as his favorite ninja turtle Leonardo; Corynn as an adorable Hello Kitty; Bennett dressed as both a giraffe and dragon. Poor Bennett got both of those costumes as Connor's hand me downs. This didn't bother him in the slightest as he scooped up candy and ate his way down Main Street trick or treating.
The rain held off just long enough for us to gather enough sugar to last us into the new year.
