School Day's

School day's, school day's, dear old golden rule day's.  It is hard to believe that today Connor and Corynn embarked on their first school experience.  So maybe they are a little young for reading, writing, and arithmetic, but I know they love to listen to good stories, create majestic artwork, and say all the numbers up to 10 or 3, but who's really counting.

Connor clad in his Cars backpack and lunchbox and Corynn glistening in her sparkling Tinkerbell set, walked through the doors of Solid Rock Mother's Day Out & Preschool and....

Connor was the first drop off.  As soon as he entered the room he was in heaven.  He was so excited to be at school.  We said a quick goodbye and we were on our merry way to drop Corynn off next door.  For a minute, we thought everything was going good, that was until she realized she no longer had her brother right by her side.  The screaming began and continued as we walked out of the building.  Surprisingly we, or me, held it together.  In the end we both knew everything was going to be fine, and five long lazy hours later when we went back for pick up, it was.

Corynn was first this time.  She was happy as a clam and came with a great progress report.  She had eaten almost all her lunch, played and even napped.  Corynn even created some beautiful frosty artwork.  Next stop was Connor.  He had the biggest smile on his face and got a glowing "awesome first day" report.  He even tried to go potty which is all I can ask for.  Connor did sponge painting and told me how he followed the leader and stayed in line on the way to chapel, all the while singing,"See what God can do".

I officially can chalk this day up to a successful first day school experience.  One down with many more to come.
