Pumpkins Galore

October wouldn't be complete without visiting and exploring pumpkin patches.  Of course we also had to pick pumpkins from each of our visits too.

Our first patch was Eagle Fork Farm. 

They had two big bonfires blazing to roast hot dogs and smores, but unfortunately the day we went was also a blazing 80+ degrees. 

We went on a hayride, played on the pivotal patch ride on toys and then set forth on a quest for the kids first pumpkin picks of the year.

 

Patch number two was Pumpkins Galore.  The kids had to show their Tiger spirit and take a picture by the festively decorated hay bales.

They also swam in corn, milked a cow, enjoyed their first seesaw ride together with no injuries and jumped in a Halloween bounce house with friends.
 

 
They ended the day adding two more pumpkins to their pile and a ghost sucker for a snack.

Number three was to Pine Oak Farms.  We took the whole family including Nan and Papa Hutch.  The kids jumped their hearts out while the grandparents had some bewitching fun.

We then hopped on the wagon for the ride out to the pumpkin patch to pick our own straight off the vine.

When we arrived, we took a detour at the corn maze and entered at our own risk.  Luckily we had some good navigators who after numerous twists and turns, found our way to an exit.
 
Then the search was on for the great pumpkin.  Ben and I picked the perfect ones for us, Ben's was just the right shade of orange and mine, well it was just perfect. We loaded them up for the ride back.
 
The day was beautiful and exhausting.  Corynn just couldn't keep her eyes open even with food in hand.

 

The fourth and final one was today at Valley Farms. We took our last hayride of the year with friends and then fed some animals.
 
Corynn was content watching the horses stroll by, while Connor climbed his way through the mini hay barn maze. 


We ended the day, in surprise fashion, by actually not bringing home a pumpkin, but they still had fun carrying them around.

Now we are ready to finish up fall with some treats for Halloween.
