Who would have thought Missouri would have a smaller version of Yellowstone called Lone Elk Park. Before we drove through the park, we started our journey with a stop at the World Bird Sanctuary. We saw different types of owls, birds and reptiles.

The kids explored the wonders and smells of the animals, especially their feet!

| Yes that is a deer and turkey leg. |
They even got to take home bird feeders to hang in our one tree in the yard. We are working on planting more, hence all the mud hole fun.

Then the real journey began. We entered the picturesque Lone Elk Park and then the special Bison area. We made sure to watch those enormous creatures from a safe distance.
We even were able to spot one lone Elk basking in the sunlight.
Even with all of the things we saw or were to be seen, the kids favorite part was the poop; bison poop to be exact. Laughter roared from the back seat and a memento needed to be had, so we took the best option I could think of, a picture, to remember this adventure.
